Effective date: April 28, 2026
DigitalGram (“the app”) is a personal journal application developed by Chakradhar Reddy. This policy explains what data the app handles, how it is stored, and what choices you have.
1. Data We Collect
DigitalGram does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party by default.
All journal entries, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. No account, registration, or internet connection is required to use the app.
2. Optional Cloud Backup
DigitalGram offers optional backup and restore through third-party cloud services. These features are entirely opt-in. If you choose to enable them:
Dropbox (future not applicable now)
- Your journal database file is uploaded to your personal Dropbox account.
- Authentication is handled directly by Dropbox using OAuth 2.0 (PKCE).
- The app stores only your access token, encrypted on your device.
- Dropbox’s own privacy policy governs any data stored in your Dropbox account.
Google Drive (future not applicable now)
- Your journal database file is uploaded to your personal Google Drive account.
- Authentication is handled by Google Sign-In. The app requests only the
drive.filescope, which limits access to files the app itself creates. - Google’s own privacy policy governs any data stored in your Google Drive account.
You can disconnect either service at any time from the app’s Settings screen, which removes the stored token from your device.
3. Data Security
- Journal data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
- Your Dropbox and Google Drive tokens are stored using Android’s
EncryptedSharedPreferences(AES-256 encryption). - An optional 4-digit passcode and biometric lock (fingerprint / face) are available to restrict access to the app.
- The app sets
allowBackup="false"in its manifest, preventing Android’s automatic cloud backup from copying your journal data without your knowledge.
4. Analytics and Advertising
DigitalGram contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
5. Children’s Privacy
DigitalGram is intended for users 18 years of age and older. The app is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
